The Nasarawa State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended one Dauda Muhammed for allegedly raping his friend’s daughter.

The NSCDC commandant in the state, Abbas Bappa-Muhammed, said in a statement by spokesman Jerry Victor that the suspect called the girl to his place under the pretext that he was going to send her on an errand.

The suspect reportedly admitted that he committed the act, promising to marry the under-aged girl.

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kaduna yesterday also ordered the remand of a 27-year old man, Haruna Mustapha, in a correctional facility for alleged sodomy.

The defendant was charged with sodomising a nine-year-old boy several times.
