AFTER a two-week trip to London, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, returned yesterday to the warm embrace of his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, Plateau State Governor and Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Simon Lalong, his deputy, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, one-time Lagos State Finance Commissioner Wale Edun, and other party chieftains.
Beaming with smiles, he said: “The trip was very good and I enjoyed my break. I am happy to be back to my fatherland.
He was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The presidential hopeful promised to lead the country to loftier heights.
He said: “Nigerians should expect a very intelligent ability to think, rethink and perform. Nigerians should expect that the help they need is here. Hope is back actively. We will serve our country with patriotism and dedication.
“We have the capacity and ability to do the job. There is no room for negative thinking here. No, Nigeria has not failed and it will not fail. This country is the greatest of all in this continent. If it is to build, we are builders; if it’s to repair, we will repair. One thing we can assure Nigerians is that we’ll definitely make our country better.”
The APC standard bearer travelled on September 24, two days after he held an elaborate meeting with members of the Pentecostal Bishops’ Forum in Abuja.
