CAF Champions League: Lalong gifts Plateau United  N2M for beating Esperance

Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has  doled out Two Million Naira (N2m)  to Plateau United for scoring two goals in their 2-1 home win over Esperance in the first leg second round of the CAF Champions League at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja yesterday.

The Governor promised one Million Naira per each goal while cheering the players to victory in the dressing room

“If you can win this match, I promise N1m for each goal,” Lalong said.

Along with the Governor are Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare and NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau.

The former Champions League winners took the lead in the 27th  minute with a calm finish after Benayad found the winger who dribbled past Chris Nwaeze before slotting home.

Plateau United led going into the break courtesy of goals from Ifeanyi Emmanuel and Mustapha Ibrahim.

Plateau United will have a big mountain to climb in the second leg of the encounter scheduled to take place on Friday 14th  October 2022 at the Stade Olympique de Rades in Tunisia.
