Assailants yesterday attacked Inyi Police Station in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu state, killing two policemen.
The gunmen also killed a councillor representing Unadu Town in Igbo Eze South Local Government, Enugu State, simply identified as Hon. Lucky.
The councillor was said to have been killed in his village on Saturday.
In Oji River, the gunmen who stormed the police station Sunday morning also set the station on fire.
An eyewitness account said the gunmen were chanting “No election and Police in Biafra land.”

One of the two people killed was said to be a police official on duty when the hoodlums attacked the station.
A viral video of the incident seen on Sunday afternoon showed a building being used as a police station on fire and the bodies of two men lying by the fence.
Voices in the background of the video identified one of the bodies as that of a policeman but it was not clear whether the second person was a policeman or not.
Efforts to get the reaction of the state police command on the incidents were not successful.
