Herdsmen stab one to death, injure others in Plateau village

Suspected Fulani militias on Monday reportedly stabbed to death one person while the other sustained injury during an attack in Riyom Local government area of Plateau State.

Sources at the community told The Nation that the incident happened around 9:45 pm on Monday when herders from Fass of Jol community, Riyom LG. mobilised and attacked Darwat helmet with dangerous weapons.

It was gathered the attack was after residents appended one of the herdsmen that grazed into more than 10 farms in the village.

A WhatsApp message by Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri of the Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria-ECCVN said Davou Mwatep, 32, was stabbed to death while Dachomo Ishaya sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

Plateau Police Command spokesman, DSP. Alfred Alabo, who confirmed the incident, said: ” There is an incident like that. The suspect has been arrested.”
