Singer Ayra Starr has opened up on her mental state when she wrote her latest smash single ‘Rush’.
Baring what was her state of mind, Ayra in an interview at Cool FM revealed the song was born in her quest to find herself.
Celestial being said though she grew up a confident person, she was in a place of uncertainty before ‘Rush’ was written.
However, by the time she was through writing her chart-topping song, she had found her real self.
The Mavin star girl said: “When I wrote rush, I was in a phase where I was so unsure of myself. And I grew up a very confident person.
“I felt like everything I was, was someone else’s idea. It wasn’t me. So, I wanted to find myself. I wanted to find the real me. To be in charge and that’s when I made rush.
“So, it was like my song. Yeah, this is who I am. Take it or leave it!”
Ayra Starr’s “Rush”, which was released on September 16, 2022 topped music charts in several countries.
It moved up swiftly to becoming the number-one song in the country a few hours after its release.
It spent several days in the number one spot and is in the fourth position on the Apple Music Top 100 Nigeria charts.
