Man strangles wife in Ogun

A 51-year-old man identified as Oluranti Badejo has allegedly strangled his wife, Folasade Badejo, 40, to death.

The eight year-old daughter of the woman, who witnessed the incident, notified her aunty about it, and the police were soon invited.

Until the fatal scuffle, the deceased lived with her husband at No 7, Madam Felicia street, Orimerunmu, Mowe.

Her body was evacuated from their home to the mortuary in Sagamu for post mortem by detectives from Mowe division on the instruction of Superintendent of Police, Folake Afeniforo.

The suspect was arrested also.

Police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi said investigation revealed that the suspect strangled the deceased during a scuffle as a result of a minor disagreement.

Oyeyemi added that when it dawned on the man that he had killed his wife, he used hot iron to burn parts of her remains to leave the impression that she was electrocuted but their eight-year-old daughter, who witnessed the strangling, gave an account of it to the police.
