Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is still relishing his winning goal in the 3-2 defeat of Bologna on Sunday even as he admitted coach Luciano Spalletti pushed him in training ahead of the thrilling encounter that gave the Partenopei their 10th successive win of the season.
Osimhen who was a second half substitute grabbed his side’s third goal of the encounter in what incidentally was his third goal of the season, said he was pleased with the overall performance of the team .
“I’m happy to have scored. Spalletti was really good at spurring me on, ” Osimhen who scored his second goal of the week in the Champions League against Ajax, told the club’s website yesterday. “I’m so pleased to have contributed to this victory which was very important for us. Congratulations to the team for never letting our intensity drop, even in more difficult moments.
“During the break, the coach gave me a real push. I went on to the pitch with a huge desire to win, just like all my team-mates.”

Apart from Spalletti, Osimhen also has some kind words for his Napoli teammates Giacomo Raspadori and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia for their pivotal roles in Sunday’s win.
“I love him, not just because he is now my teammate when he was at Sassuolo too,” the Nigeria international further said. “He’s a top player, a great guy, he has been decisive for the team and we have a good relationship on and off the pitch. I love the solidarity in this team, which is the most important thing at this level.”
He also praised Kvaratskhelia who has been Napoli’s revelation of the season as the 21-year-old Georgia international who assisted Osimhen for the winning goal has so far tallied seven goals and eight assists in just 14 appearances in both the UEFA Champions League and Serie A.
“I am really happy for him, he deserves everything he is getting now,” Osimhen said.“He is just getting started, you guys have seen nothing yet.
“ I believe he has the quality to make us dream this season, he has big confidence and we are here to help support him. You can see he has been decisive for us.”
