The Nation learnt that the meeting essentially looked into the final list of the PCC and the nationwide campaign itinerary.

He said: “The PCC leadership came to formally dot the ‘is’ and cross the ‘ts’ with the party leadership in preparation for the formal unveiling of the PCC on Friday.

“The meeting also allowed the two principal organs of the party to look into the nationwide campaign plan.

“It was agreed that the chairman (Adamu) will brief the National Working Committee (NWC) at its weekly meeting tomorrow (today) on the list and the campaign itinerary.

“It was also agreed that the national chairman, secretary, and the leadership of the PCC will present the same to the President for his blessing tomorrow (today) at the Villa.”

The date for the campaign kick-off will be determined after the meeting with the President, the source said.

According to a report in WesternPost, the list, which was  first released about three weeks ago, generated controversies among party chieftains and key stakeholders.

They alleged that some party interests were not carried along.

The party’s standard bearer directed the management of the campaign organisation to liaise with APC governors, the party NWC and other aggrieved interests to harmonise their positions.
