Lion Francis Abiodun Wilkey has been installed as the 10th president of Ikeja Unique Lions Club under District 404 B2.
The public presentation which held at NECA house, Ikeja had in attendance dignitaries including the District 404 B2 Governor, Lion Aare Lekan Owolabi, MD/CEO Benil Project Group; Mr Friday Ben Ileile, Okhaemho of Ivhiavhe and Utokho Ukpi Na Evho of Iviarua-Avianwu (FUGAR); Pcc. Agm. John Aigbokhaode, MD Brands Optimal limited, Mr Otis Ojeikhoa, distinguished lion leaders, others.
Also, other club officers were installed at the fund raising and investiture ceremony for the 2022/2023 lions service year.
The Chairman of the investiture planning and fund-raising committee, Lion Pharm Stephen Onojomete in his address said that the ceremony signifies the continuity of the great legacies that started over a century ago by the founder and his associates to provide succor and much needed help to those in need of help.
“To continue on this well established legacies of humanitarian services, we always do a public presentation of our president and board of directors to discuss the identified needs within our community and to help the identified needs through a public fund raising program.” he said.
The District Governor, Lion Aare Lekan Owolabi PMJF, NLCF in his Goodwill message urged the president and his members to continue to redefine service so as to improve their impact in their immediate environment and to also create values for members.
The President, Lion Francis Abiodun Wilkey in his acceptance speech expressed gratitude while assuring that the club under his watch will become bigger and stronger.

“I am highly honoured and want to use this medium to assure all and sundry that the club under my watch would be bigger, stronger and united with greater vision for greater service delivery,” he said.
Speaking on the lined up projects for the 2022/2023 Lions service year, President Wilkey said that the club after undertaking their community need assessments, the club has considered some critical and purposeful projects that requires collective funding so as to help in cushioning the huge suffering of individuals and communities requesting for timely support.
“To achieve these service projects, the financial implications of the various projects earlier mentioned is in the tune of 32.5 million naira to enable us comfortably complete the projects.
“We shall be most grateful for your generosity to donate passionately from the heart for a greater impact in our community for the betterment and alleviation of poverty in our society at large,” he said.
“I wish to reassure you that your kind donations would help in transforming and touch lives in a most desirable way and put smiles on the faces of the less privileged in our community through the various service framework that covers the visually impaired, childhood cancer, the diabetic, the hungry, supporting a healthy environment, and educational upgrading of our schools,” he reaffirmed.
Other major highlight of the event was the induction of 14 new members, notable donations, raffle draw.
