The Agricultural and Commodities Directorate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Presidential Campaign Council, has disclosed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu will evolve a system and solutions that allows Nigerians to grow food all year round, if elected in 2023.
Secretary of the Directorate, Retson Tedheke, made this known in a statement issued to journalists in Abuja yesterday.
Tedheke, while sympathising with flood victims across the country, said it is time Nigeria look at agriculture differently.
According to him, farmers must stop depending on rain to survive and grow food for 200 million Nigerians.
He said: “The directorate is saddened by the massive flood that has occurred across Nigeria. Several lives have unfortunately been lost, properties destroyed and thousands of cultivated hectares of land also lost to the flood that is ravaging most of Nigeria.

“Our Principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima empathise and sympathise with all Nigerians experiencing these floods and we expect that as farmers struggle in most of Nigeria, ongoing support from several government agencies will reach all those affected.
“We will be committed and focus on what we can to keep job in rural Nigeria all year round. As we make progress against banditry and insecurity, we also are sure that we will overcome this soon.
Deputy Director of the Agriculture and Commodities Directorate, According to Alhaji Iliyasu Muazu, noted that the 78 percent of Nigerians who are into agriculture and agribusiness, that currently feels the poverty resulting from rural underdevelopment will feel the incoming revolution in agriculture to be driven by Tinubu and Shettima.
“If we are productive all year round, we can have a stockpile of food across the country all year round. This flood therefore would have had a minimal impact on the Nigeria people.
“Our focus as a directorate is an agricultural process that ensures the people succeed particularly since the majority of our people are agrarian.”
“Tinubu will sign the farmers contract with rural Nigeria farmers. The agbado and cassava economy will be the driver of the new Nigeria progressive developmental productivity”.
