The Chairman of Lagos State Parks and Garages Management, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (Aka MC Oluomo) has risen in defence of former National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Alhaji Najeem Yasin over his endorsement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Alhaji Yasin, the National Deputy President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), recently unveiled YASIN for Tinubu/Shettima Presidency in Kwara State where he called on residents to vote massively for Asiwaju Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima in the forthcoming election.
He said: “They are the best candidates, given what they have achieved as former governors of their respective states.”

Shortly after, some members of the union chided him for endorsing Tinubu.
Akinsanya, however, described Yasin’s action as a step in the right direction.
According to Akinsanya, Yasin’s being a visionary leader was only exercising his fundamental human rights.
He said: “It is those who don’t know the personality of Alhaji Yasin and his achievements as NURTW President that will abuse him. This is the man that took NURTW to an international level by joining the international transport union. He also became a board member of the International Transport Association in London by a dint of hard work and uprightness. During his tenure as NURTW President, he ensured peaceful co-existence among all union chapters, especially in some southwest where there were crises. He introduced several reforms that made NURTW a respected union. He is an advocate of peaceful co-existence and progressive unionism.”
