Housing scheme near completion, says ministry

PERMANENT Secretary of Lagos State Ministry of Housing, Kamar Olowoshago, has said the housing scheme in Egan is near completion.

Olowoshago led senior officials of the ministry on a site inspection to Egan, Lagos State University (LASU), and Lateef Kayode Jakande Gardens at Igando.

He said: “We have been to the Housing Scheme in Egan and I can tell you it is 90 per cent ready. We are trying to see how we can complete the Cluster One so that we can release the homes to the allotees…”

Olowoshago noted that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu would provide housing for Lagosians in line with the THEMES agenda.

“At the ministry, we are focused on building more housing schemes, we’re also concerned about maintenance… I’m satisfied with the maintenance culture at LKJ Gardens where you have 492 units…” he addeed.

Director of Estate, Mrs. Patunola-Ajayi Olayinka called for harmony between estates’ residents’ associations and facility managers.

She said while role of the associations was ceremonial, the facility managers were to be in charge of the day-to-day running of the facilities.

The estate director called on allottees to ensure payment of their facility maintenance fee as contained in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) they signed.
