Stakeholders in security matters have urged the government to create more jobs to tackle youth restiveness.
They spoke at the weekend at the maiden edition of Badagry Security Summit 2022, organised by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Badagry Divisional Command, Area ‘K’ Command, Lagos State.
The theme of the summit was: “Curbing Youth Restiveness, Cultism and Other Social Vices in Badagry: Proactive Solution to Peace and Security.”
The summit was organised in conjunction with Badagry Local Government.
The Chairman, Mr. Olusegun Onilude,
said unemployment was a factor that resulted in youth restiveness and other vices.
He said the council was partnering security agencies in Badagry to reduce cultism and other vices.

The lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Setonji David, said youth restiveness was a challenge the three arms of government must take seriously.
Alhaji Adidas Osiefa, the chairman, PCRC, Area ‘K’ Command, urged the government to create employment for youths, in order to disengage from cultism and other vices.
The Aholu of Ajido Kingdom, Aholu Saheed Adamson, noted that some youths resorted to drinking and other vices due to unemployment.
He advised the government to assist them with soft loans to engage in small scale businesses.
The Chairman, PCRC Badagry Division, Mr. Emmanuel Jogbe,
said the committee would not relent in its efforts to achieve its goal and objectives to justify its existence.
