•Governor: our agenda is to make Lagos hub of creative industry
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday opened three newly-built fire stations, with a promise that three others would be ready before the end of the year.
Sanwo-Olu physically inaugurated Ebute-Elefun Fire Station on Lagos Island and virtually opened Oba Gbolahan Lawal Oniru Station, Lekki, as well as Ajegunle Fire Station in Ajegunle.
He also inaugurated the upgraded Fire Service Headquarters in Alausa.
Sanwo-Olu described the event as “a fulfilment of his administration’s commitment to the protection of lives and property of our citizens.”
The Oniru, Oba Gbolahan Lawal, thanked Sanwo-Olu for “approving the construction of this modern fire station and utilising this land that was bequeathed to the state by my predecessor, the late Oba Idowu Oniru.”
The governor has reiterated his administration’s agenda to make the state the hub of creative industry across the globe.
He spoke at the graduation of 890 trainees of the Lagos State Creative Industry Initiative (LACI), a partnership project between the government and African Film Academy.
Sanwo-Olu said the government was committed to achieving its 30-year development plan, which it recently unveiled at the Ehingbeti Lagos Economic Summit.
Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf congratulated the graduating students and pledged to monitor their growth and assist them to produce superb creative works.
