The 2022 edition of the India Cup Golf tournament organised by the Indian Golfers Foundation (IGF), will get underway next Monday at the golf section of Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos
While the club Caddies and Professional golfers tournament begins on Monday, the Ladies will play their tournament on Tuesday.
Keshab Vaswani, a member of the organizing committee for the event, said that the golf section is buzzing in anticipation with an impressive over 400 golfers already signed up to take part in the week-long golfing activities.
“The Indian Golfers Foundation wishes to acknowledge with deep gratitude the steadfast commitment of their sponsors who have stood firmly with them even in these trying economic conditions,” he said.
“The IGF is hosting the event as a channel to foster the growing relationship between the Indian and international Communities with their Nigerian counterparts.

“The atmosphere created at the event is one of key interest to us and that is why this event has gone on for so long,” he added.
With the backing of African Industries, Zenith Bank, 7Up Bottling Company, and Rwandair being the premium sponsors amongst others, the final events are scheduled for Friday, November 4th which will have the Veteran members of the Ikoyi Club and sponsors guests participating for prizes.
Saturday 5th November will see the main draw Men’s tournament, where the gentlemen golfers will be taking on the India Cup challenge.
The event will be an eighteen-hole stoke play event whose eventual winner will be determined by the lowest gross score and rewarded with a Business class return ticket courtesy of Rwandair to Kigali. There will also be prizes for runner-ups.
