Al Mostaqbal Sport Club of Egypt striker Olamilekan Lawal has urged the Olympic Eagles to decimate visiting Tanzania in their U-23 AFCON qualifier today in Ibadan, even as he made a come and get me call to coach Salisu Yusuf to be part of the team in the future .
The 21-year-old Lagos born Lawal has made name for himself on the Egyptian domestic league season and has in the last two seasons shown his striking prowess while at Al Olympic FC of Alexandria.
The former player of Giant BrillarsFC of Enugu said he was now ready to show what he can do in the Nigerian colours, adding playing for the Olympic Eagles is now is biggest dreams.
“ First and foremost, I want to commend coach Salisu Yusuf for guiding the Olympic Eagles to a 1-1away draw to Tanzania last weekend and I have no doubt they will get the job done on Saturday (today) in Ibadan,”the free scoring Lawal who was credited with five goal and three assists in pre-season for Al Mostaqbal, said.“ My desire is to be part of the team that will secure Nigeria’s ticket for the Paris 2024 Olympics Football Tournament and I want to wish the team success against Tanzania in Ibadan.”
Lawal is being managed by FIFA Intermediary Emeka Darlington who added that his ward would be a great addition to the Olympic Eagles.
“Without any doubt, Lawal is a good striker and very experienced now because he has spent some good years playing in Egypt for Olympics FC and he is currently doing well with Al Mostaqbal,” he said.
