•Fashola, Al-Makura, Ogbe head depts
A new grassroots-based group has been unveiled to ensure victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in the February 25, 2023 poll.
The group Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) at the grassroots.
Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Council (lCC) will complement the APC
A former Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Silas Agara, is the National Coordinator. of the council which has Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), former Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe, and erstwhile Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura as some of its departmental heads.
Media and Publicity Committee Director of the ICC, Ntufam Eta, said in a statement yesterday that members “would also adopt door-to-door, hamlet-to-hamlet campaigns/visitations, voters sensitisation, and outreach meetings amongst others,” to attain the primary objective.
The statement partly reads: , “A Special purpose vehicle, the Tinubu/ Shettima Grassroots Campaign Council has been unveiled in Abuja.
“The ICC has His Excellency, Silas Agara former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State as National Coordinator.
“The council would complement the newly inaugurated Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and its focus shall be the grassroots.
“The ICC would also seek to expand the support base of the APC Presidential bearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to the hinterlands of the country.
“Among the key directorates in the ICC are: Contact and Mobilisation, headed by Babatunde Fashola (SAN); Reconciliation and Integration Committee, headed by Chief Audu Ogbe; Support Groups and NGOs Committee, headed by Senator Tanko Al-Makura; as well as Finance and Fundraising, headed Alhaji Kashim Iman”
