The Chairman of Kano Municipal Local Government Area and Kano Central Coordinator, Gawuna/Garo 2023, Alhaji Faizu Alfindiki, on Tuesday, received hundreds of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) members, mostly youths, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso is the founder of NNPP and its presidential candidate.

Alfindiki, addressing the defectors from Zaitawa Ward,  gave reasons he dumped the  Kwankwasiyya movement.

“I have dumped the Kwankwasiyya Movement because I realised  the movement is built on servitude and slavery.”

“The Kwankwasiyya ideology runs contrary to the tenets of democracy and good governance.

“We were with Kwankwasiyya for years. We rendered selfless services, under  the rain and sunshine, yet we have nothing to show for our sacrifices,” he regretted.

He further stated that APC in Kano State under the leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, “has over the last seven years chatted a new course that are rewarding to Kano and the good people of the state.”

The Municipal Council Chairman  said “the evidence of first grade performance by Dr. Ganduje is overwhelming on the streets and in our homes as more individuals have been empowered.”

He, however, commended the defectors for taking the right decision by joining the winning train,  describing the Gawuna/Garo 2023 team, projecting the governorship ambition of Kano State Deputy Governor,  Dr.  Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna,  as  unstoppable on the march to victory.

In a speech earlier, Hon. Muniru Ya’u Yakasai who led other defectors to APC said they were moved by Alfindiki style of inclusive governance in the Municipal Council.

According to him,  “as it stands today Gawuna is the most qualified to lead Kano because of inherent ability to build on Ganduje’s legacy and take Kano to the next level.”
