THE Osun State Government has embarked on the refurbishment of all tourist sites across the state to improve their conditions and attract foreign sightseers, and excursionists into the state.
The Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, Olalekan Badmus who is also the supervising Commissioner for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, made this known during a 2-day inspection of three historical cultural sites and Fire Service Stations across the State.
Badmus who visited Igbo Ifa in Ila- Orangun, Obaala Palace in Ilesha, and Olumirin Waterfalls in Erin-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area of the State on Friday said Governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s administration prioritised tourism, especially improving the sector to improve the economy and bring the state to limelight in the world.

He said Igbo Ifa in Ila-Orangun and Obaala Palace in Ilesa had been under renovation for some time and need to be fully restored to their ancient structure and full capacity, saying, “Igbo Ifa is a practical base for both local and International tourists who have pleasure in learning about Ifa religion.”
The commissioner explained that the restoration of the ancient tourist sites was very germane to enable them to serve their purposes maximally, noting that the projects were being renovated by a grant from Germany; Gerda Henked Stiftung Makastenstra Dusseldorf.
