‘Religious tolerance, peace building lead to growth’

country on the cusp of greatness

President of Lutheran World Federation (LWF), Rev. Musa Filibus, has said religious tolerance and peace building would fast track development in the country.

Filibus, who was conferred with Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic by President  Muhammadu Buhari, said he would continue to call for justice and respect for the dignity and sanctity of human life.

The archbishop, who was recognised for his role in speaking for justice and human rights as well as speaking truth to power and providing spiritual advice and guidance, has been in the forefront of fighting injustice, promoting peace and religious tolerance.

According to him, no nation can develop when there is absence of peace building and religious intolerance.

He said: “I will continue to speak truth to power and strengthen the prophetic voice of religious leaders in Nigeria”.

“Leaders must bridge the gap and try to achieve lasting peace; the first place to start is the immediate environment.

”Nigerians should build a formidable mechanism for conflict resolution, be tolerant and uphold mutual respect.We must ensure justice and equity, irrespective of language and religion; build and sustain a system that treats everyone equally without sentiment”.
