Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has presented the staff of office and certificate of authority to Oba Adebowale Raufu as the Alaye of Orisunbare land in Alimosho Local Government.

Sanwo-Olu, represented by his Special Adviser on Local Governments and Community Affairs, Mr. Kayode Robert, said it was in fulfilment of his promise to reform the traditional institution.

The event was held at the council secretariat.

“Your appointment as a royal father is in fulfilment of the promise the governor made to make the traditional institution seamless and less cumbersome…” Robert said.

He enjoined him not to betray “the confidence the governor, the council and people of Orisunbare have in you.”

Council Chairman, Jelili Sulaimon, urged the monarch to unite the people, promote tradition and culture, be fair  and rule with the fear of God.

“Progress is easy to achieve in a community where the leader is trustworthy and upright,” Sulaimon added.

He urged the community to “vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the elections, starting from the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Sanwo-Olu, Lagos West senatorial candidate Dr. Idiat Adebule, House of Representatives candidate, Adele Ayuba, House of Assembly candidate, Lukman Orelope, and Kehinde Joseph.”

Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Monsurudeen Bello, thanked the guests, including monarchs, baales, Community Development Committee (CDC) chairmen, leaders of legislative councils, council officials, and the clergy.

Oba Raufu expressed gratitude to stakeholders, who helped actualise his dream, especially the Orisunbare Chieftaincy Family and others, including Falade Ojisu, Kimishe, Olatomi, Ileshofo, Alaba, and Abokuwa family.

The monarch pledged to run an inclusive administration to “move Orisunbare kingdom to the next level.”
