NASENI trains 100 Nasarawa youths on modern PoP casting

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) yesterday begun the training of 100 youths in Nasarawa State on modern methods of casting Plaster of Paris (PoP) and applications.

The training is holding at the CSS Global Integrated Farms, Gora, Karu Local Government Area of the state.

Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI Prof. Mohammad Haruna said the training was in the first-phase for the  North Central region.

He said: “The training ispart of the implementation of the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari to the agency to develop the capacity of youths in various trades, to ensure skills acquisition for job creation and self-employment.”

“The ongoing skill development training and youth empowerment programme is aimed at introducing modern and technological ways of performing existing occupation and trades, in order to make practitioners more efficient, as well as enhance growth and sustainability.

“The specific training for each state and locations are based on need analysis and feasibilities.”

Governor Abdullahi Sule, who opned the training, thanked President Buhari for establishing NASENI to help improve the technological prospect of Nigeria.

Sule, who was represented by the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Prof. Umar Gurku, said the state was doing same by training about 70 youths on ICT, welding and fabrication.
