Agency promises better security

Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) has resolved to deepen security in the state.

It made this pledge at a stakeholders’ meeting with security agencies and other stakeholders, at Onikan, Lagos

General Manager of LNSA, Prince Ifalade Oyekan,  noted that the meeting was in response to prevailing security issues, saying LNSA was being proactive on safety amid security challenges.

“There’s need to exchange ideas on how to keep Lagos safe. You need a peaceful environment to achieve anything. If the environment is hostile, you can never achieve anything…” he said.

Guest Lecturer, Dr. Audu Alqali, said the campaign: “If you see something, say something,” is one that raises awareness on terrorism and related crime and how to report suspicious activity.

“We all play a role in keeping our communities safe. It is easy to be distracted… but as you go about your day, if you see something that doesn’t seem right, say something,” he added.

Commander of 82 Division, Brig-Gen Muhammed Abubakar, warned the military against acts that can undermine the law.

“No one is above the law, including the Army. If you see anyone taking one-way, the police can arrest the person, including soldiers.  Don’t think because you are in uniform, you can do anything you like. If you are caught, you will be dealt …” he said.
