Bayelsa Queens defender Glory Edet has expressed her excitement after being named in the 2022 CAF Women Champions League Team of the Tournament by the CAF Technical Study Group.
The African Football Governing body officially announced the 2022 CAFWCL Best XI on Sunday and Glory Edet was the only Bayelsa Queens player to make the cut.
The list had six ASFAR of Morocco players, three Mamelodi Sundowns players, one each from Bayelsa Queens and Simba Queens FC in a 4-3-3 formation.
“It’s a rare privilege and I am happy to be part of the team,” Edet said.
“It comes with a lot of responsibility and having given my best all through the tournament, I am glad that my hard work and that of my teammates was recognized.
“I sincerely dedicate this to all my teammates, backroom staff and management of the team, not also forgetting the fans who stood by us always.
“I will continue to put in my best in the colours of Bayelsa Queens and won’t relent in ensuring we win the league again.” She Concluded.
Bayelsa Queens nicknamed the Prosperity Girls ended the tournament in third place, just behind Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and eventual winners ASFAR Ladies of Morocco.
