A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Centre for Democracy and Socio-Economic Rights (CEDESER), has urged Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun to suspend political campaigns and pay attention to the frightening rate of kidnapping, banditry and land grabbing by criminals, who have held Ewekoro Local Government and its environs to ransom.

The advice was contained in a statement issued by the President, Michael Ajayi.

The statement said: “We are alarmed by the spate of kidnapping, harassment, molestation and maiming of innocent citizens in Ogun State, especially in Ewekoro and adjoining local governments. People in Obada, Awowo, Wasinmi, Itori, Papalanto, Ajipatu, Elere, Onigbedu and Kajola today live in fear as kidnapping for ransom by criminals, who sometimes wear army uniform, has become a daily occurrence.”
