Nasarawa State Police command has busted a baby factory in the state, rescued victims and arrested some suspects.
Spokesman of the Command, Ramhan Nansel, in a statement yesterday said police rescued six young girls and a six-month-old baby.
Suspects, Eze Ezeogu Norbert, Nnaemeka Eze, Okechukwu Ogechi, and Obiageli Chidi were arrested, the statement said.
Police claimed that the operator of the unregistered orphanage abducted expectant underage girls, held them hostage till they gave birth and sold their babies to the highest bidders.
The suspects and victims have been handed over to National Agency for the Prosecution of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation and prosecution, it was said.
