Four people died yesterday while some others were injured when a van on the convoy of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri crashed.
About a week ago, two policemen were seriously injured in an accident in Yola, the state capital.
Yesterday’s crash involved a Toyota Hilux van conveying vigilantes accompanying Governor Fintiri for a campaign in Mubi, Adamawa State.
The accident occurred at Fadamareke community when the van was negotiating a bend.
Three bodies, including that of Bako Kaura, head of PDP’s informal security arm, and another identified as Adamu, Kaura’s biological son, were taken to a mortuary.
The source could not account for the fourth body, casting doubt on the four said to have died.
Five other occupants in the van who sustained injuries were in the Government House ambulance and another unmarked Hilux van, for treatment at a health facility.
