The German Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in partnership with the Plateau State Government has trained 7,254 entrepreneurs.

Secretary to the State Government, Prof Danladi Atu, said the gesture would boost the economy of the state.

He said it would also improve economic literacy and entrepreneurship competencies for start-ups and existing businesses.

Head of Economic Education and Entrepreneurship (EEE) at GIZ, Mrs. Doyin Olawaiye, said GIZ-SEDIN is improving MSMEs by promoting technical support that goes beyond training, adding that it also provides opportunities and platforms for integration into the entrepreneurial ecosystem, linkages to business support, and the opportunity to pitch to potential partners and investors.

Mrs. Olawaiye further narrated that the SEDIN was commissioned to address unemployment in the country.

According to her, all these are expected to enhance entrepreneurial and management skills and strengthen MSMEs in select value chains, adding that the program gives special attention to women, youth, and people with migration backgrounds (IDPs and returning migrants).
