The police in the United Kingdom (UK) have released the Founder of DAAR Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi.
They arrested and delayed him on arrival at the London Heathrow Airport on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
A statement by Dokpesi himself and made available to The Nation said he was delayed at the airport for some hours before his passport was stamped and was cleared by British Immigration officials for entry into the country.

“Dokpesi arrived via Frankfurt from Abuja on a Lufthansa Airlines flight and was invited off the plane before other passengers were disembarked. Dokpesi was delayed at the airport for some hours before his passport was stamped and he was cleared by British Immigration officials for entry into the country,” he said. According to him, his visit to the UK was not unconnected with the invitation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, by the British Government to share perspectives on some issues around this year’s presidential election.
The media owner is the Deputy Director General for Technical and Systems of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.
Dokpesi thanked all for their outpouring of love, prayers and support, following the news of the incident, reassuring Nigerians that he is hale and hearty.
