THE Ijesa Community in Abuja on Friday threw its weight behind the re-election bid of two House of Representatives members, Hon. Emmanuel Sanya Omirin and Hon. Wole Oke for Ijesa South and North Federal Constituencies in Osun State respectively.

The group in a statement by its National President, Ade-Omotosho Tolu and National Secretary, Adeyemi Boluwalife, in Abuja, said their action was predicated on the high performance and adequate representation of the two parliamentarians.

They called on all Ijesa sons and daughters at home and in diaspora to turn out in their numbers to vote for the duo during the forthcoming general elections.

The statement reads: “The Ijesa Community in Abuja, under the banner of the Council of Egbe Omo Obokun Abuja, having carried out careful dossiers on Hon. Emmanuel Sanya Omirin and Hon. Wole Oke as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates for Ijesa South and North Federal Constituency in Osun State, is pleased to state categorically that we have endorsed both of them for the upcoming general elections.

“Apart from the fact that Hon. Omirin and Hon. Oke are businessmen, grassroots politicians, philanthropists, we have felt their impact, pragmatism and intelligence.

“They have displayed the right attitude and spirit of competence, promise keeping and efficient positive leadership.

“Hon. Omirin and Hon. Oke have demonstrated character and vision for the people of Ijesa South and North Federal Constituencies in Osun State and Ijesa in diaspora.

“We have resolved to mobilize our people back home in tumultuous numbers to unanimously ensure their resounding victory back to the House of Representatives,” the statement read.
