FOUNDER and Chief Executive Officer of GistHouse Afrocentric Drop-In Conversation platform, Dr. Ope Banwo, has said the platform has unveiled a video feature to its audio drop-in conversation platform.
Since launch of the Clubhouse Audio app in 2021, during COVID-19, more audio apps; Twitter Spaces, GistHouse, Wisdom, Spoon, Green Room etc. have sprung up to take advantage of the global interest in drop-in audio conversations.
But today, not quite satisfied, social influencers, trainers, coaches, entrepreneurs, clubs and businesses, who use audio conversation apps, have always clamoured for inclusion of video into the features as part of conversation with audiences.
At a news conference in Omaha in Nebraska, United States, Banwo demonstrated the video feature, saying it allows room creators to activating the video option in their rooms and bring discussants up on video to join the discussion.
He noted that users can respond to the video discussions either by using audio only, or request to come up on video to make their rejoinders, and that room creators can record, download and re-purpose their video room sessions.
Mr Vaughn Item, director of Technology at GistHouse, said: “The beauty about GistHouse Video feature is that users can enjoy the anonymity of audio only, while participating in the video discussions by those who choose to be up on video”.
He added, “the benefit is that users can enjoy both audio and video without any of the disadvantages of either.”
Speaking further, the founder said “our vision at GistHouse has always been to help users maximise conversations and content online while having fun, impacting lives, and making changes through participatory drop-in conversations “
GistHouse Afrocentric Conversation Platform was launched in October 1, after being in beta development, testing and tech tweaking mode for over one year. GistHouse Audio app is avaiable on Google Playstore and IOS AppStore.
