Beauty entrepreneur and movie producer, John Oche Success aka Dr Success John has told the media to believe whatever they want over his relationship with star actress, Destiny Etiko.
Success John, who is also the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Infiniti Group, voiced his frustration when our reporter who met him at a function asked him to shed more light on his relationship with Etiko following several reports that the duo share more than professional courtesy.
“This same question has been brought to me countless times. Well, I won’t deny the fact that I and the famous actress are friends. I have little or less to say about this. Must every relationship be defined by the media? Since the media seem to know a lot, whatever they say is up to them. If they say we are dating then so be it. If they say we are just friends, then so be it,” he retorted.
“I even once ran into an Honourable member of the House of Assembly at the airport some time ago and she told me that she heard that Etiko and I are getting married soon, requesting an invite to the supposed wedding, saying she would love to attend. The media keeps saying a whole lot all the time about me and Destiny. Where they got all the information from I don’t know. I even once saw on social media some time ago that I am the only son of Destiny Etiko’s father.
”I don’t know how an Idoma true blood and son can be birthed and fathered by an Igbo man. There is absolutely nothing I haven’t seen or heard In the media. So they can believe whatever they want to. All I know is that our relationship is personal and private and I would appreciate it if the media and general public respect that,” he added.
A few months ago, the rumour went viral that the delectable actress gifted the actor an SUV worth N50M on his birthday which comes up March 12. He had since dispelled the rumour asserting that “Our relationship is personal and spirited”
“As you all know, Destiny Etiko is a rich and famous actress. Isn’t she rich enough to gift anyone anything or do whatever she desires with her money? Allow sleeping dogs to lie, everything must not be brought out to the media,” he said emphatically.
Dr. Success John is an established multifaceted entrepreneur and politician. His resume never included acting and film productions until 2020 when the pressure of his friends from Nollywood was too much for him to ignore.
He was a businessman and skincare expert before the script of the movie industry manifested in his life,
Sharing the story of his life and how he found himself in front of cameras, he narrated: “I am a well-known skin beauty guru and dermatologist. I was gradually becoming a household name as I had lots of clients patronizing me including wives of senators, governors, ministers and some top influential businesswomen.

”One day, one of my clients called and said she wanted me to work on the skin of a top actress. I obliged and came through for the actress. Eventually, we became friends and she tried talking me into acting but I declined and told her I was too busy and occupied with business and thus I won’t have time for full-time acting. She then suggested I could also come into the Industry as a producer and that I would make more money.”
Success had his hands full but never full enough to add to his portfolio another opportunity of making more money.
“Immediately I heard more money, I agreed because as a multifaceted entrepreneur anywhere there’s money you would see me there. Immediately, she told me about the industry and also introduced me to one of the big producers in the industry. I met with the producer and immediately we began. I quickly learnt the business. I registered my business name “Infiniti Empire Films”and immediately produced my first movie “Tears of a mad woman”. Afterward, I also produced many others such as “Desperate Queen” where I featured big actors like Patience Ozorkwo, Mercy Johnson, Mike Ezuruonye, Eniola Badmus, Jerry Williams, Angela Okorie and others.
“Afterwards I picked on another prospect In “Tears of a mad woman” where I featured legends like Olu Jacobs, Patience Ozorkwor, Onny Michaels and others. I did all the marketing processes and it was a huge success. After that, politics took me away for sometimes. Then I returned after three years and did two other blockbusters “Bond” where I featured Ken Erics, Destiny Etiko, Ebele Okaro, Eddie Watson, Sam Obiago, Phil Daniels, Linda John and others.
“This was another major breakthrough for me as I made a lot of money from it and am still making. I now did another power blockbuster titled “Royal Quest” with the legendary Clarion Chukwura , Destiny Etiko, Ebele Okaro and many others. I was only making star-studded movies and that was one of the secrets of my major success in movie making” he said.
Regarding acting, Dr. Success John never wanted any part of it despite having the looks and a bit of talent to pull him over the lines. He revealed that many of his friends in Nollywood persistently pressured him to give it a shot, which he subsequently did, much to his own delight.
“Over the years, Mercy Johnson, Ugezu J. Ugezu, Amechi Aniekwe have always persuaded me to act but I declined. Finally, in 2020 my two besties, Destiny Etiko and Ifeoma Anekwe literally persuaded and systematically talked me into accepting a sub-lead role in the movie titled “The Celebrities”. I starred in it and that made me more famous.I was already popular and a household name before I came into Nollywood but the movie “Celebrities “added to my fame. After that, I did many more.
“Before I knew it, Veteran actor and producer Ngozi Ezeonu called me to feature in one of her movies in 2022 titled “Housemaids”. I declined but later accepted because I have huge respect and love for her. I acted in it and it turned out great,” he recounted.
Dr. Success John who holds a BA degree in English speaks the Idoma, Igbo and English fluently.
