Osun State former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has assured the over 10,000 youths sacked on the platform of Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme(O-YES), by Governor Ademola Adeleke that they would be reinstated.

Adeleke scrapped and sacked the scheme, which was established under the administration of ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola, replacing it with Imole Youths Corps, as he commenced recruitment.

Oyetola, through his ex-aide, who served as the Special Adviser on Youth and Sports, Mr. Lateef Aremo, in a statement yesterday, described the sacking of the youth as insensitive and wicked.

He assured the disengaged youths of a new era of joy, encouraging them to keep their head up as they would be reinstated “after I retrieve my mandate.”

Oyetola said: “I feel your pains. This is an unfortunate and a sensitive situation. Losing a job is not a good situation. Losing a job is upsetting, but keep your head up. Excellent opportunities are only a few steps away. Be rest assured that immediately after reclaiming our mandate, you shall all be reinstated.

“For other affected youths apart from OYES cadets, believe me, you’ll soon have jobs knocking on your doors. Stay strong and grab new opportunities that will soon be coming your ways.”

“I’m sorry you had to leave the scheme temporarily. I know you enjoyed working under the scheme, especially during our administration. We did all what we could despite the meagre resources to put smiles on your faces and other workers in the state.”
