Rhythim: The America-based artist with a Naija essence

Samson Edwin, better known in the music circle as Rhythim is currently smiling to the bank as one of his tunes tagged “On Me,” is raking in impressive figures on streaming platforms, with close to a million streams right now.

The record which featured veteran Nigeria singer, YQ, is celebratory and inspirational.

Rhythim’s music is distinguished by its urban sound that exudes a singular, unmistakable character.

With a fusion of smooth vocals and melodies, and contemporary Afrobeat rhythms, he produces soulful and uplifting tracks that compel listeners to move and groove.

Rhythim, who relocated from Nigeria in 2018 to the United State of America (USA) has slowly made himself one of the African artists to look out for in the God’s own state. His years of career
building seems to be paying off.

His intimidating work rate has seen the former Taekwondo athlete release three extended plays with the most recent one “Afrobeats & Jollof,” being churned out in August, 2022.

Collaboration with fellow artiste doesn’t sound like what entices Rhythim right now, if the feature list in his discography are anything to go by. At the last count, only YQ and Nuke Major have served as a feature artiste on his catalogs.

With the Afrobeats movement taking a formidable shape in the global sonic space, Rhythim has been contributing his quota all the way from the US by performing at shows with the recent being his explosive performance with American Superstar and Legend “Plunky” and his band as a Cameo artiste from Africa.

His contribution shimmers with the Nigerian essence: from the drums, to the slang, and pop culture. It is evident that Rhythim’s years of being away from Nigeria has not obliterated his love for the country.

With just a quarter into the year, it’s difficult to pinpoint what Rhythim has in stock for the fans, however, there are speculation that he’s working on releasing his first single for the year by the second quarter of 2023.
