GENERAL Manager of Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory, Olufunsho Elulade, has encouraged interns at Engineering Resource Academy to open their minds to learning.
He spoke during the students’ visit to his agency.
Elulade said this would enhance their knowledge and give them more opportunity for employment.
He noted practical is different from theory which they were thought in the school.
“The profession you have chosen requires constant research; don’t say because you are now a graduate, you won’t read. You can only distinguish yourselves by acquiring more knowledge, even despite being General Manager here, I still read and research.
He advised Nigerian University Commission (NUC) to invest more on practical knowledge for students instead of theory.
General Manager of Lagos State Public Works Corporation, Ayodele Somide, urged the students to see the visit as a stepping stone.
He said studying Civil Engineering does not translate to automatic jobs, advising them to be open to opportunities and to think outside the box.
