The CEO Styles & Fades Unisex salon, Mrs Chioma Maduekwe has given her two cents to young aspiring ladies to ditch the popular beliefs that they have to go into prostitution to achieve their goals in life.
Maduekwe said this at the launch of her new salon located in Ikota, Lagos, recently.
The mother of three noted that the narrative that every successful female entrepreneur sleeps around with rich men must be squashed in order to raise a generation of hard working and disciplined entrepreneurs.
“You don’t need to sell your body to achieve anything, everybody starts small so you need to start first, don’t say this person started and failed, that means I’m going to fail, no. I think the whole perspective is all about social media, it has some good vibes and negative vibes at the same time so if you’re actually on Instagram looking at all these girls you will be lost”, she said.
“We have a wine shop, I was taking these bottles and going from shop to shop asking them to buy my wine so I didn’t just get the money, I worked for my money and no man gave me my money not even my husband because when I met him he had nothing so we actually worked to get what we have.
“Please don’t sell your body for money, it doesn’t make sense. It may take longer but surely. I see that everybody wants a fast life, it may take longer but if you persevere and just keep going you will get there. Don’t take the fast way to get the money, it doesn’t last.”
Speaking of her newly launched salon, she said “it is a unisex salon so we cater for both genders. We do everything beauty including installation of lace wigs, weaving, styling, razor cuts haircuts etc and we are very affordable.”
