An Investigating Police Officer (IPO) and a complainant, Stasia Nora, have been arrested by the Lagos Police Command over the death of a car dealer, Olashile Oduga, in police custody.
Oduga was arrested by police operatives at Ikota in Ajah after he had a minor issue with his neighbour on February 11.
Elder sister to the deceased, Abisola Bakare, while recounting how they found out he had passed on, said the family learnt of his arrest on Tuesday and went to the Ikota Police Post but the officers there initially denied any record of him.
She said they began a search for him and got to Ajah Police Station where they were told that Oduga had died.

Bakare said police officers claimed he appeared weak when he arrived the station and was rushed to Epe General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
She alleged that the family discovered visible signs of physical abuse on his body, including bloodstains and deep handcuff marks.
Reacting to the incident, Police Spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said both the IPO and the complainant were being interrogated at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti, Yaba.
“The command assures the public that justice will be served and any officers found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
“Investigations have since commenced. The Investigating Police Officer and the complainant are currently in custody at SCID, Yaba.
“An autopsy is about to be conducted to determine the cause of death, after which further necessary actions will follow,” Hundeyin said.
