Rapper, Speed Darlington aka Akpi has expressed reservation over his landlord’s expectation of him.
Emissaries informed Akpi that his landlord was displeased with him for giving him the peace sign (the ‘V’ sign, made by holding up the index and middle fingers), rather than greet him properly.
The comic personality who noted he was pissed with the information, argued he didn’t have to greet his landlord because he does pay rent and neither was he the house owner’s son.
Speed said his landlord expected him to join the others like his brother who greeted him, lamenting the effect of familiarity.
“Oh boy! Na wah o! Landlord dey vex say I no dey greet am good morning. Say I see am, I do am ‘peace’ (udo di), say I no greet am good morning.

“Omo! I just hear this information now, my head catch fire. I dey vex.
“I’m not your son. I don’t have to greet you good morning. I pay you rent.
“This Nigerian bullshit. I pay you rent, I don’t have to greet you good morning”, he said.
“This is the problem of living with ….and also irasita ire (loosely translates as shining teeth) with landlord gi (your landlord).
“My guy dey irasita ire with landlord. So, landlord dey expect everybody to dey irasita ire with him.
“I don’t have to greet you. You’re not my father, I’m not your son”, Akpi.
