The chase for the signature of Samuel Chukwueze continues to grow each day as Aston Villa and Everton have stepped up their pursuit of the Nigerian international striker.

According to report from Spain, Aston Villa and Everton will face competition from both Real Madrid and Liverpool if they want to sign the Villarreal striker.

Spanish newspaper SPORT reported that Chukwueze is attracting enormous interest ahead of the summer window with suggestions that Aston Villa boss Emery is ‘very interested’ in signing Chukwueze this summer.

The report claimed that Real Madrid were hoping to secure Chukwueze’s signature for around €50m (£44m) this summer.

However, Villa’s interest is causing a problem for Real, even if many would assume that would be an easy decision.

Everton have struggled for goals in the Premier League this season, mainly due to the prolonged absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and are therefore the lowest scorers in the Premier League with a mere 24 goals across 31 games.

Liverpool, Arsenal, and West Ham United are also named in the report as being interested in signing Chukwueze this summer.

The race for Chukwueze is heating up but Emery will hope that his history with the winger will put Villa in a strong position.

Chukwueze, 23, has been enjoying a fine season with Villarreal having racked up 13 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.

The Nigerian has blistering pace and has provided the end product to match this season.

Chukwueze has also worked closely with Emery over the years, having been together at Villarreal.

Chukwueze hit 14 goals and 15 assists under Emery and has previously spoken highly of the Spaniard.
