Members of the Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Advisory Council have welcomed president-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his wife Oluremi back to Nigeria after a time of rest in France.
The council, in a statement by its chairman, Barr. Iyiola Oladokun, secretary general Dr Isiaka Kolawole and public relations officer Engr. Idris Adeoye, said Tinubu’s holiday was well deserved considering the grueling campaign and election exercise which stressed him and other party leaders to the limit.
Oladokun is a former deputy governor in the state while Kolawole is the current deputy executive secretary (services) at the Universal Basic Education Commission. Adeoye is a chieftain of the party.
The council added that his safe return shamed his detractors who had claimed that he went for medical treatment.

The statement read: “We members of the Oyo State APC Elders Advisory Council hereby join well-meaning Nigerians across politics, governance, civil society groups, as well as commerce/industries to felicitate with His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria’s President-elect, and his amiable wife, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on their arrival into the country after a well-deserved vacation in France upon completion of the rigorous, but resoundingly successful, national electoral outing.
“The arrival, without any doubt, has put the befitting lie to not quite unfamiliar oppositional surmises and ill-purposed guesses that the President-elect had gone seeking medical help rather than on a vacation to unwind and rejuvenate, in preparation for the May 29 2023 inauguration.
“It must indeed have taken not just the physical coordination among humans, but uncommon celestial grace, to locate and position Asiwaju for such a formidable task to remedy a Nigeria obviously in need of continued good governance as a progression of the current progressive administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“While wishing His Excellency and Her Excellency a befitting welcome preparatory to installation and ascendancy of the Presidential Throne on 29th May, 2023, we beseech Almighty God to uphold our leader and grant The President – Elect the strength, the divine wisdom and the right mix of lieutenants to steer the ship of the Nigeria state to befitting heights.
