May 29: Scarcity of hotel accommodation hits Jalingo

Scarcity of hotel accommodation has hit Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, ahead of the handover to a new government today.

There was an unusual influx of visitors into the state capital with businesses picking up more than before.

The streets of the state capital were also very busy with heavy traffic.

Commercial motorcycles were making brisk business while relaxation spots were experiencing a high patronage.

Residents of Jalingo have been very busy in the past few days in preparation for today’s swearing-in ceremony at the Jolly Nyame Stadium.

The venue is wearing a new look with renovations being carried out on the structures.

Our correspondent learnt that the swearing-in ceremony will take off at 2 p.m.
