Seventy-six days after their kidnap, 14 more victims from Adunu and Kwagana communities in Paikoro local government area of Niger State have regained freedom.

Terrorists who invaded the above communities and Beni village in Munya local government area, on March 14, kidnapped 56 people. Thirty-five of the victims had earlier been released and when added to the recent figure, brings the total of those freed to 49 while seven were still in captivity.

The Nation gathered that the released victims were handed over to a member of the community who had been serving as intermediary between the terrorists and families of kidnapped persons.

They were said to have been released at an undisclosed location between Pandogari Town and Brinin Gwari local government in Kaduna State on Monday.

The victims disclosed that some motorcycles were used as ransom, adding that there were seven more people in captivity and the terrorists were demanding for more motorcycles to be sent before they would be released.

The victims further explained that the demand for the motorcycles by the terrorists as ransom was because security agents had destroyed the motorcycles they used in their attacks.
