The chief medical director of Napoli Raffaele Canonico has admitted that the most difficult moment for the team this season was keeping Victor Osimhen out of the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals clash against AC Milan.
The team doctor speaking during ‘Radio Goal’, broadcast on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli also admitted that the language barriers was another major challenge for the team.
“The first obstacle can be the language, but fortunately English helps us to immediately have a direct approach. The skill also lies in not imposing one’s knowledge, but trying to adapt and then bring the players towards our methodologies. We are talking about great athletes, super professionals, first of all they are looking for the best things to perform at the top.”

He added: “The most difficult moment was keeping Osimhen out of the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals with Milan.”
On the superstition over Osimhen’s mask, he said: “With the surgeon Tartaro, who operated on him, we already agreed last year in May-June that he could play without a mask.
“But it’s not a matter of superstition, he feels calmer and more serene with a mask. This year he got elbowed or head-butted near the eye socket and the mask did its job,” he added.
