Ahead of the first phase of the Men’s and Women’s Handball Premier League in Benin City, Ardova has been named as new sponsors.
This was revealed during a press conference in Lagos as the competition will now be known as Ardova Premier Handball League (APHPL) and the three-year sponsorship deal worth N9.25m.
The Ardova Premier Handball League will hand winners in the men’s and women’s categories N2.5 million eachwhich is an improvement from the previous editions.

Also, participating teams will receive branded merchandise such as bags, water bottles and official jerseys.
Speaking at the event, President of HFN, Samuel Ocheho said: ‘I’m happy with the sponsorship deal and it would help us continue in our drive to improve Handball in Nigeria.
‘We’ve had a push up in the ranking of Nigeria Handball. Before we came on board, we were outside the top 100 but now we are inside the first 50 countries in the world.
The Ardova handball premier League will start 1st July 2023 at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium sport halls and Etete Complex, Benin City, Edo state.
