28th Seabed Council holds in Jamaica

Nigeria’S Permanent Representative to International Seabed Authority,  Maureen Tamuno, has continued to showcase her brilliance at the 28th Session of International Seabed Authority Council in Jamaica.

Tamuno is a facilitator  of the Informal Working Group on Inspection, Compliance  and Enforcement mechanism at the council’s 28th session.

 Secretary-General of ISA, Mr. Michael  Lodge,  thanked the government for its support in ensuring all conditions were met for the meetings despite renovation of the venue.

He hailed  members of the Legal and Technical Commission and Finance Committee, which held their meetings from June 28 to July 7 and from July 5 to 7. respectively, and informed delegates that the reports are available on the ISA website in English as unedited advance versions pending translation in the other five languages of the United Nations.

Secretary-General Lodge also commended the work of facilitators of the different informal and intersessional working groups for their contributions in advancing the text of the regulations since the last meetings.
