Lawmaker representing Akoko North East/North West in House of Representatives, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has spent N50 million to empower 1000 market women in Ondo state.
Tunji-Ojo was among ministerial nominees President Bola Tinubu sent to Senate.
He said his gesture was to reduce poverty and hardship among the less privileged.
Tunji-Ojo, said the gesture was to fulfil his promise to the market women who he described as ‘important drivers of constituency’s economy.’

He encouraged beneficiaries to work hard and make good use of the opportunity to help others.
A beneficiary, Muhammed Risikat, apprreciated Tunji-Ojo for the gesture, and prayed God continues to bless him and strengthen him.
She said: “This initiative will boost our trades and expand the economic capacity of our constituency. We appreciate BTO for fulfilling his promises always. He will continue to prosper.”
The empowerment is coming weeks after the lawmaker gave out 50 million naira bursary to students in the Federal Constituency.
