An education technology EdTech app, DiceTutors, said it is targeting 5000 jobs in the short run and many more in the long run.
CEO Devosta Solutions Ltd, an IT company owner of DiceTutors, Ajayi Ayeson, who spoke during the unveiling of the app in Lagos at the weekend, said it will complement Federal Government’s efforts at tackling youth unemployment in the country and its attendant challenges and also boost the literacy level in the country.
According to Ayeson, aside graduate teachers, undergraduates could also take advantage of the app and earn income to support their education since it offers flexible teaching and payment options.
He said: “From the short survey we carried out, we were able to see from the mail we sent out, we got about a thousand response and we have not really launched when the mails were sent out. Now that the app will begin to run on Google play store Apple store, we expect that within the space of six month, we are looking at covering over 5000 in terms of the number of people who are able to actually register online.
“We expect the numbers will actually double in the next one year. These young people who have the opportunity to make money on the site will surely embrace it. Whether they are going to school or not, they can decide to have maybe Sunday, Saturday as a spare time where they can actually make money and sponsor themselves to school. They don’t really need to depend so much on people who cannot really afford their school fees and all that; they can be part of it so they can make money and help themselves to school so.”
According to him, the app will make a tremendous change within the educational system in Nigeria, adding that it is a game changer.
“We also believe that DiceTutors is a game changer to reduce poverty, create job opportunities for our young people in our country. Our focus is on Nigeria first. We want to actually tap into the immense treasure that we have. We are looking at the international market too. We are looking at the global market and the people from foreign countries can also leverage our effort and capacity as well. So it’s really going to go a lot of places for we are so excited to have this,” he said.
Also speaking on the occasion, an official of the company, Aramide Alade, said parents and care givers should go extra mile to give their children the best education. DiceTutors is a platform to learn from childhood to adulthood with flexible payment options because it’s negotiable. Sign up and pass thru verification. Take aptitude test, upload CV and attend virtual interview.
“It offers personalized services, innovative teaching methods, real world application including morals, emotional intelligence, parent involvement and progress tracking,” she said.
