A human rights organisation, the Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV), has urged the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, to investigate the financial transactions of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
In a petition by CAIDOV’s Executive Director Gbenga Soloki, and Legal Adviser G. H. Agoro, the rights group said the investigation was necessary and urgent.
CAIDOV alleged that all accounts of ther agency were linked to the Biometric Verification Number (BVN) of an official.

It also alleged that “most of the accounts are full of discrepancies ”.
CAIDOV added: “There is cause for concern, given that this is improper and an indictment on the banks involved.
“It is bewildering that such discrepancies could be allowed to pass.
“Corrupt practices, particularly by government officials who are being paid by taxpayers, constitute injustice which is at the core of the CAIDOV’s activities. Therefore, the ugly situation in the REA merits our attention and concern,” CAIDOV said.
