We are committed to building a better Nigeria, says Reps spokesman

The House of Representatives has said that it is fully committed to ensuring a better and prosperous nation that all Nigerians will be proud of.

Speaking with newsmen at a dinner organised in honour of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, Deputy Spokesman of the House, Hon Philip Agbese said the Speaker, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas has already set the ball rolling towards achieving an ideal nation.

The lawmaker who represents Ado/ Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State said the major agenda of the House was to run an open parliament focused on transparency and accountability.

He said the House is focused on actualising its promise to Nigerians individually and collectively as a parliament.

Agbese listed economic liberation, a serene business environment, accountable governance, personal freedom, social capital, safety, and security, education, and health as the focal point of the House.

He said as part of actualising this, the leadership of the House was putting in place a pro-citizen agenda that is aimed to improve the welfare of Nigerians.
